‘On Your Way Up’ store re-opening to public

The “On Your Way Up” incentive store offered by the Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County is re-opening to the public.

The store will be available by appointment Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

“There will be a few minor changes due to COVID-19,” said YSB Executive Director Jan Williams. “Only one person at a time will be allowed in the store. Parents will need to wear a mask (you will need to bring your own). No children will be allowed at this time.”

Donations are always needed for infant to 5T clothes, diapers, baby wipes, safety items and educational toys.

“The items in the store are ‘purchased’ with points that the parents earn by making healthy life choices for themselves and their children,” explained YSB Staff Member Ira Bencun. “These activities include well-baby check-ups, attending parenting classes and participating in story hour.”

Those who can donate children’s clothing are encouraged to call the office at 356-9681 to schedule a time to drop off their donation at 1344 Maple Drive, Huntington. Monetary donations are also accepted. Due to the liability concerns, used car seats and baby furniture cannot be accepted.
