Four 2020 HNHS graduates earn Shirley and George Kilander money

The Huntington County Community Foundation announces Alyssa Brinkman, Logan Bolding, Madelynn Keiffer and Corbin Snow, all graduating seniors from Huntington North, have been awarded the 2020 Shirley and George Kilander Purdue University Scholarship totaling $1,600 to attend Purdue University, West Lafayette.

Brinkman will be majoring in kinesiology, with a minor in Spanish.

She is the daughter of Marla and Vincent Brinkman, of Huntington.

While at HNHS, Brinkman participated in soccer and swimming. She volunteered many hours as camp leader for both the HNHS Soccer Camp and Roanoke Lions Club Youth Soccer Camp.

Bolding will be majoring in engineering.

His parents are Steph-anie and Todd Bolding.

A National Honor Society member, Bolding graduated in the top 25 of his class. His extra-curricular activities include captain of the mathematics team, which competed in the statewide Mathematics Academic Super Bowl, and ranked in the Top 10.  

Keiffer, a graduating senior at Huntington North High School, intends to major in agribusiness.

She is the daughter of Natalie and Terry Keiffer, of Andrews.

Keiffer was actively involved in 4-H for 10 years, and four years in Future Farmers of America. She volunteered many hours in numerous 4-H related events, as well as serving food locally at a soup kitchen.

Snow, a Markle resident, will be majoring in chemical engineering.

His parents are Deeda Leffert and Craig Snow.

Snow was a member of the HNHS bowling team. A member of the National Honor Society, he ranked in the Top 25 of his class.  He served the community by volunteering at Karing for Kids and Master’s Pantry food bank.

Huntington residents Shirley and George Kilander established the scholarship in 2004 to provide financial assistance to graduating seniors attending Purdue University, West Lafayette, as full-time students. George Kilander graduated from Purdue with a degree in Engineering Technology.
