Lincoln Caring Families has announced that Mallory Emley and Hunter Heacock are the 2020 recipients of Lincoln’s Heith Garner Memorial Scholarship. Each will be awarded a $500 scholarship.

Emley volunteered at Pioneer Festival and Operation Backyard throughout high school. She also is actively involved at College Park Church and plays Warren softball.

Emley plans to pursue a nursing degree at Huntington University. She attended Lincoln from 2006 to 2010. Her parents are Brad and Sarah Emley.

Heacock served as a baseball manager and served on Class Council during high school. Honors included being a member of National Honor Society and a Hoosier Boys State delegate. Besides volunteering by tutoring, he has worked at Parkmoor Carwash and as an umpire.

Heacock plans to attend Ball State University to major in accounting/finance. He attended Lincoln his entire elementary career and is the son of Glenn and Julie Heacock.

Heith Garner was a former Lincoln student who was involved in a tragic car accident as a young teenager. He would have graduated in the HNHS class of 1998. His parents, Don and Angie Garner, along with LCF, initiated the Heith Garner Scholarship Fund to keep his legacy alive and help Lincoln students attend college. Through the years, more than 65 HNHS graduates who attended Lincoln for at least three years have earned scholarships from this fund.
