Sheriff’s department limiting access to facility

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department is limiting access to its facility, located at 332 E. State St., Huntington.

Anyone who is unsure of the importance of their situation should call Huntington County Dispatch at 356-8316.

There will be no change to the handling of urgent and emergency situations. Deputies will respond to these situations just as they did before.

Deputies will also continue to respond to non-emergency calls that require the physical presence of an officer.

At this time, non-emergency calls that do not require the physical presence of an officer will be handled by the officer over the phone.

As for crash reports, they will only be available online at www.buycrash. com. Incident reports must be requested by filling out a public records request. The necessary paperwork can be found at www.hunt
