Encourage primary voting by mail

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Huntington County Election Board is encouraging voters to cast their ballots in the upcoming primary election through the mail.

Voters can request a mail-in absentee ballot by filling out an application. To obtain an application, visit www.in.gov/sos/elec tions/2402.htm, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “ABS-MAIL: Appli cation for Absentee Ballot by Mail Only.” Clicking on that heading will download an application.

Voters can also call the Huntington County clerk’s office at 358-4820 and request that an application be mailed to them.

Completed applications can be e-mailed to yvette.runkle@hunting ton.in.us; faxed to 358-4880; or mailed to Huntington County Election Board, PO Box 228, Huntington, IN 46750.

Once an application has been approved, the voter will be sent a ballot.

The deadline to turn in an application is April 23.
