Continuing a tradition for the past 38 years, Huntington County Right to Life has presented a gift package to the family of the first baby born on or following Christmas.

This year, Ashlynn Pierce was born on Dec. 31 at 9:34 a.m., the daughter of Ethan and Taylor Pierce, of Huntington.

Baby Ashlynn weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces and measured 19.25 inches long at birth.

The gift package was presented to honor her new life and also the birth of Jesus Christ. The package included a pack of diapers, a pair of shoes, a doll, a pacifier, two blankets, an outfit, two sleepers, a onesie, an afghan and a bottle bank.
