Retirement open house set for outgoing foundation director Howell

Michael Howell has announced his retirement as the executive director of the Huntington County Community Foundation at the end of 2019.

A retirement open house is planned to take place at the Historic Forks of the Wabash on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a special recognition time held at 6 p.m.

Visitors can feel free to bring a written memory to give to Howell. Light hors d’oeuvres will be available.

During Howell’s nine years of service, HCCF assets have grown 83 percent and 30 new endowed funds have been created. His community involvements have included Huntington Rotary Club, Huntington County Historical Society, Historic Forks of the Wabash, Red Cross of Northeast Indiana, Victory Noll Center, Cosmopolitan Club and Huntington County Honors.

The Historic Forks of the Wabash is located at 3011 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
