11 percent of county’s voters use early option

Through Oct. 29, a total of 2,272 registered voters had cast ballots in the municipal election.

That figure represents 11 percent of Huntington County’s voters.

Most voters – 2,105 in all – cast their ballots at an early voting location. From Oct. 8 to 29, early voting was offered Monday through Friday in the Huntington County Courthouse. Voting was also offered in the courthouse on Saturday, Oct. 26.

A second early voting location, Huntington’s American Legion Post 85, was open on Oct. 28 and 29.

Absentee voting by mail was also available. A total of 127 voters cast their ballots in this manner.

Absentee voting by traveling board was available starting Oct. 17. Sixty-nine voters availed themselves of this early voting method.

The final day for early voting is today, Monday, Nov. 4. Voters will be able to cast ballots at the Huntington County Courthouse from 9 a.m. to noon.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
