Violins of Hope coming to Trinity United Methodist on Nov. 17

The Violins of Hope program is coming to Trinity United Methodist Church, Huntington, on Sunday, Nov. 17.
The program, narrated by Jane Gerardot, will start at 4 p.m. and run for approximately an hour, including a question-and- answer session at the end of the presentation. The presentation is free and all are welcome.

Through an unprecedented collaboration between the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Violins of Hope will be brought to the Fort Wayne area this fall. The violins portray stories of courage in the face of oppression and persecution during the Holocaust by focusing on the themes of defiance, resilience and legacy.

Painstakingly restored by master Israeli violin maker Amnon Weinstein, 50 instruments associated with the camps and ghettos of the Holocaust will be played and displayed throughout the community from Nov. 9 to 23.

More information about this collaboration of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne to bring this inspirational event to communities surrounding Fort Wayne can be found online at www.facebook.com/violinsofhopeFW or violinsofhopefw.org.
