Vintage cars, planes at airport for BN Car Show, Fly-In

Vintage cars and vintage airplanes will be on the viewing menu as the Busted Knuckles Auto Club presents a car show and fly-in on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Huntington Municipal Airport.

Registration for the show will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, with the show running from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Awards will be handed out at 1:30 p.m. They will go to the top 30 vehicles, best in show and best paint, as well as best engine, best interior and best in progress.

In addition to the vehicles, local vintage airplane enthusiast Tim Savage will have three planes on display: a 1947 Piper J-3 Cub, a 1943 Taylorcraft L-2 and a 1944 General Motors Grumman TBM-3E Avenger bomber.

A variety of other aircraft are expected to fly in to the airport, located at 1365 Warren Rd., Huntington.

There is a fee for the show, with proceeds going to local charities, note organizers.

Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 75 show entrants.

Food will be available for purchase. A DJ will be on hand, door prizes will be given out and a 50-50 drawing will also be held.
