Annual HCCOA chili cook-off set

The Huntington County Council on Aging annual Chili Cook-Off will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The HCCOA is seeking applications from cooks interested in participating in the contest.

There is a fee to enter. Trophies will be awarded for Judges’ Choice, Hottest and People’s Choice, as well as a trophy for the best decorated table.

A table, table covering, two chairs, electricity, chili tasting cups, spoons, napkins, water and lemonade will be provided. Contestants will provide their specially-prepared chili, crock pots or a roaster, dipping ladle and table decorations if desired.

The chili must be homemade. Cooks must bring at least two gallons to the event.

The event will be held at the future site of the HCCOA Senior Center, 1450 W. Park Drive, Huntington. All proceeds go to the Huntington County Council on Aging building fund.
