SWCD hosting steering committee meetings for two watershed projects

The Huntington County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is hosting steering committee meetings for the Lower Salamonie River Watershed and Upper Wabash River Watershed projects on Thursday, Aug. 22.

The Lower Salamonie River 319 steering committee meeting will begin at 9 a.m. The Upper Wabash River Watershed Management Plan meeting will follow the Lower Salamonie 319 meeting at 10 a.m. Both meetings will be held at the Huntington County SWCD Office, 2040 Riverfork Drive, Huntington.

Meeting objectives are:

• Progress report and planning for cost-share program and watershed management plan.

• Outreach planning.

• Entertain questions and concerns from the committee and other stakeholders present.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend, and will be given time to ask questions and provide input.
