The 5th Parlour Salon, located at 5 E. Market St. in downtown Huntington, has added not only a new spa room for its clients, but also enhanced the talents of one of its stylists to provide the special spa services.

Emily Horne, a native of Huntington and a 2016 Huntington North High School graduate, has obtained her cosmetology license at the Redken Elite School. She now has a license as an esthetician, adding to her cosmetology skills.

She explains that as an esthetician, she works in providing a beauty culture.

“I’m focused on skin care, making somebody feel good about themselves, and just their whole outlook on the beauty industry,” she says. “My perspective is just making somebody feel good about themselves. That’s how I kind of fell in love with doing hair.”

The spa room is located in the upstairs section of the salon, offering a relaxing atmosphere with stress-reducing colors, music, plants and an aroma oil diffuser.

Services include facial treatments using the Bioelements Professional Skin Care line featuring its Ultra-Detox Chemical Peel.

“We can customize our facials to any skin type somebody would have, and we can work toward improving what problems they would have,” she says. “So if somebody has fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, acne, age spots – we can improve all of that.”

Other services include body massage – either Swedish or hot stone – as well as full body waxing and lash lifts, perms and tinting.

Horne’s hours at the 5th Parlour spa are Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and every other Saturday that she isn’t working behind the chair as a hair stylist, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. She can be reached at 200-1427, or through the salon’s website, www.the5thpar lour.org or via Facebook at The 5th Parlour.
