Vintage, Handmade Mkt. Saturday in Roanoke

Shoppers can spend a day finding something new that’s old, or a treasure crafted by hand at the upcoming Vintage & Handmade Market on Saturday, June 15.

The market runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Roanoke on Main Street and Second Street.

There will be a lot more of a selection this year than last year – nearly triple, in fact – as more than 70 vendors are signed up to set up shop to sell a wide variety of vintage items, antiques and handmade crafts.

“Everything is handmade, or everything is vintage or antiques, so no reproductions of things,” says Alyssa Alaimo, of the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce. “That kind of makes this market special.”

Handcrafted items include crochet, macramé, wreaths, jewelry, clothing, wooden signs and more.

Shoppers will also enjoy outdoor entertainment at this year’s market, as singer-songwriter Jess Thrower provides live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Just up the street, the Roanoke Public Library will feature local author Christy Miller Cabe, who will hold a book signing/sale event of her two books, “Brownie Crumbs and Other Life Morsels” and  “If Only it Were a Piece of Cake,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library is located at 314 N. Main St., Suite 120, in Roanoke. For more information visit or call 672-2989.

During the event, Moose and Mollie’s will offer breakfast, lunch and beverages at a food booth. Hungry shoppers can also choose from a nice selection of food at Roanoke’s downtown restaurants, which will be open during the market.
