Huntington University awarded 289 degrees during its 121st commencement on Saturday, May 18, in the school’s Merillat Complex Fieldhouse.

The 2019 graduating class included the first four-year Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies students, who joined the three 2018 alumni who completed three-year agricultural studies programs.

In addition to recognizing 2019 graduates, the ceremony commemorated the 50th anniversary of the school’s Class of 1969.

The commencement address was delivered by Ted McKinney, the U.S. Department of Agriculture undersecretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. Prior to his address, in which he encouraged graduates to challenge themselves, the school awarded him an honorary Doctor of Agriculture.
