Ground broken on new police HQ

Ground is broken at a ceremony marking the start of construction of the Huntington Police Department headquarters on Wednesday, April 24, on Cherry Street in downtown Huntington. Pictured are (from left) Chad Hacker, chief, and Jay Kyle, assistant chief, Huntington Police Department; Joe Blomeke, councilman, Huntington Common Council; Mayor Brooks Fetters; Chris McCutcheon, captain, Huntington Police Department; Dana Wannemacher, president, Barton-Coe-Vilamaa; and Brad Smith, executive vice president, The Hagerman Group. The facility was designed by Barton-Coe-Vilamaa. The Hagerman Group will construct it, with completion slated for 2020.
