Huntington native is now National Guard colonel

Huntington native Matthew Handy has been promoted to the rank of colonel with the Indiana National Guard 38th Combat Aviation Brigade.

Additionally, with the promotion, Handy now serves as the state army aviation officer.
Handy’s promotion occurred at a ceremony on Jan. 18 at the Shelbyville Flight Facility, in Shelbyville.

A 1989 graduate of Huntington North High School, Handy now resides in Franklin Township. He and wife, Keli, have a son, Sam, and a daughter, Lily.
