Three Huntington North High School seniors are honored by arts council

Chelsea Heiney, Peter Wehr and Audra Rittenhouse have been named artists of the month by the LaFontaine Arts Council.

All three are seniors at Huntington North High School.

Heiney is the daughter of Marci and Greg Heiney, of rural Huntington. She was nominated by art teachers Teri Fuller-O'Brien and Joe Haft for her achievements in the area of jewelry and ceramics. She is a member of National Honor Society and Class Council, serves as activities coordinator for the Psychology Club and was selected to attend Hoosier Girls State.

Wehr is the son of Colter and Cynthia Wehr, of rural Huntington. He was nominated by teachers Thaine Campbell and John Gardner for his achievements in instrumental music. Wehr has performed with the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Varsity Singers Band and Varsity Singers.

Rittenhouse is the daughter of Ray and Brenda Rittenhouse, of rural Huntington. She was nominated by teacher John Wenning for her accomplishments in vocal performance. Rittenhouse is a four-year member of Varsity Singers and has won several gold medals for her solo and ensemble performances in Indiana State School Music Association contests. She earned a vocal performance scholarship at Huntington University.
