Riverview is third in math contest

A team from Riverview Middle School placed third in the Huntington University Middle School Mathematics Competition, which was held April 21 on the HU campus.

Northridge Middle School, of Middlebury, won the competition. Edgewood Middle School, of Warsaw, took second place.

The top three individual winners were Corbin Bullock from Northridge, first; Grant Carlson from Edgewood, second; and Audrey Grewe from Northridge, third.
Eighteen schools competed.

The competition was made up of three rounds. The first round was a 20-question algebra, geometry and general mathematics written exam. The individual round was made up of 10 questions. During the final round, the team round, students were provided with five problems that are best solved through the cooperative efforts of the team.
