Roanoke renews ambulance service agreement with Parkview

The Roanoke Town Council renewed the town's contract with Parkview Health for ambulance service in Roanoke for the next year during its April 20 meeting.

In addition, the council said it plans to place renovations to the EMS quarters up for bid in the coming weeks.

In light of the town's new Ford Explorer police cruiser, the council voted unanimously to sell the town's old police vehicle to the Huntington County Emergency Management Agency for $1. Council Vice President Troy Karshner said that the EMA was in need of another vehicle.

A youth member of Roanoke Baptist Church informed the council of the RBC youth group's cleanup campaign of the town, which is to take place on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The church is accepting donations in light of the event, which will go toward the youth group's mission trips.
