Red Cross needs blood donors to cover shortage

The American Red Cross needs donors of all blood types to help overcome an ongoing emergency blood shortage. Help is needed now to ensure patients don’t experience delays in critical treatments.

Upcoming community blood drives are:

Huntington

• Aug. 19, from 7:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church/School, 860 Che-rry St.

• Aug. 20, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Rd.

• Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huntington National Guard Armory, 800 Zahn St.

Warren

• Aug. 16, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Knight Bergman Center, 132 S. Nancy St.

Make an appointment to donate blood by downloading the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood. org or calling 800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). Those who donated blood earlier this summer may be eligible to give again. Blood can be safely given every 56 days and Power Red donations can be given every 16 weeks.
