Pleasant Chapel UMC women meet

The Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Women met on Wednesday, June 13, at the church. Lunch was served by the hostess, Cynthia Chesterman. President Jill Law presided at the business meeting following lunch. Eight memberswere present.

A thank you card was received from Sally Truitt for prayers, phone calls, visits and cards she has received. A thank you card was also received from Carolann Sherbahn for the visits and cards she has received. Thanks were given to Sherbahn for the Points for Education coupons that the group mailed to McCurdy Missions School. Cards were signed to send to friends for birthdays and getting well.

A ladies’ night out is planned on Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. See the August Pleasant Traveler for more details.

Chesterman presented the program and had food supplies for the group to fix “Agape bags.” After they filled the bag, she told the group to take the bags to give to anyone who the group thought was in need of food to eat.

A Bible verse, “May the God of hope fill you with all the joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:30),” was included in each bag.
