INDOT says cable barriers being installed on I-69 in Hgtn. County

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that cable barrier installation along I-69 in various locations, was scheduled to begin on or after Tuesday, May 29, weather permitting.

Drivers may see work taking place in the median while INDOT sub-contractor Specialties Companies, LLC installs the cable barrier system along I-69 at the following locations:

• Between mile markers 278 and 300 in Huntington and Allen counties.

• Between mile markers 334 and 341 in DeKalb and Steuben counties.

Some daytime and overnight lane restrictions may be needed throughout the project. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through any active construction zone.

The contract was awarded to E&B Paving, Inc. for $6.5 million and also includes the resurface of 10 miles of I-69 in Huntington and Allen counties, bridge painting and a pipe liner installation on I-69. Work on the cable barrier is expected to be finished by early November, weather permitting. When completed, the entire 102-mile stretch of I-69 throughout the Fort Wayne District (mile 255 to 357) will be enclosed with cable barrier.
