During the months of January and February, the Andrews-Dallas Township Public Library held its annual Winter Reading Club, challenging families to track the total amount of time everyone in their home reads. Each hour earned a ticket in drawings for grand prize baskets.

This year, 16 families read 1,250 hours. Each team that participated received a participation bag of prizes. Plus, eight themed baskets were awarded.

The Beeching family – Ryan, Alex, Kaylee and Mya Beeching – won the “Winter” basket. Team K3 – Mark, Cathy and Andrea Krumanaker – won the “Spring” basket. Nicki Beal won the “Summer” basket. The Three Amigos team – Sandi, Peyton and Rylee Denney – won the “Fall” basket.

Also, Jan Tucker won the “Coffee Break”” basket. Lisa Reinke won the “Tea Time” basket. Jodi Mook and Kadyn Falk won the “Movie Night” basket. Team “Wheeler’s Readers” – Danielle, Jacob and Shai Wheeler, and Serenity Miller – won the “Game Night” basket.

Baskets included a variety of items to match each theme, such as a state park entrance pass donated by the Salamonie Interpretive Center in the fall basket. The Winter Reading Club is sponsored by the Friends of the Andrews Library.
