Blending a variety of genres including traditional country, bluegrass, Americana and Irish music, the newly formed Jen & The Foggy Creek Band will perform at Roanoke’s Cottage Event Center on March 23.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department.

Fronting the new group is singer, guitarist and songwriter Jen Fisher. Until recently Fisher was lead singer with popular Fort Wayne country rock band Sugar Shot, which performed several times at the Roanoke venue.

Other members of the band include John Warner, banjo; Tommy Myers, bass, mandolin and accordion; John Foxworthy, drums and percussion; Celia Price, keyboards; Colleen Phillips, fiddle; Dave Nelson, bass and Jonah Leatherman, lead guitar.

The group’s repertoire runs the gamut from old time country like “Orange Blossom Special,” “Dueling Banjos” and “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” to classic Nashville hits like “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Rolling in My Sweet Baby’s Arms.”

In addition, there will be more modern country tunes like “Wagon Wheel” and “Tennessee Whiskey,” and contemporary pop hits like “Uptown Funk” and “All About The Bass” will get a Foggy Creek Band country/bluegrass style twist. The band will also perform a number of original compositions written by Fisher.
Food including hot dogs and chili will be offered for purchase by the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department.

A cash bar will also be available. Sponsor is Dennis Grain of Roanoke.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 483-3508, from Ryan Carroll at the Roanoke branch of Bippus State Bank, at John’s Meat Market in Roanoke, or online with PayPal at cottageeventcen ter.com.

Cottage Event Center is located at 9524 U.S.-24 North in Roanoke.
