PHH earns Top 100 Hospital accolade

Parkview Huntington Hospital was recently recognized by Thomson Reuters as a 100 Top Hospital award winner.

Thomson Reuters recently released its annual study, which identifies the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance.

The Thomson Reuters "100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks" study evaluates performance in several areas including mortality, medical complications, patient safety, average length of stay, expenses, profitability, patient satisfaction, adherence to clinical standards of care and post-discharge mortality and readmission rates for acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and pneumonia.

The award signifies that an award-winning hospital is performing well against national standards.

Its board, management, physicians, nurses and hospital employees work together to constantly measure, review and improve performance to make it an excellent place to receive care.

"We are pleased to be recognized as a leader in providing excellent health services," said Darlene Garrett, chief operating officer, Parkview Huntington Hospital.

"Our medical staff and co-workers at Parkview Huntington Hospital work hard each and every day, and are committed to patient-centered care. Being mentioned as a 100 top hospital award winner is a great accomplishment for our staff and sends a positive message to our community."

"The PHH Board of Directors is proud to have Parkview Huntington Hospital receive this recognition," Rick Baker, Parkview Huntington Hospital Board Chairman, said. "This prestigious national award reinforces the continuing positive efforts of our outstanding staff and administration in providing excellent healthcare."
