Tree giveaway to be held at Izaak Walton League on April 17

The Huntington County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) is giving away free trees again this year.

As part of the group's Earth Day celebration, trees will be given away on April 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or as long as the trees last.

Trees available include American plum, common chokeberry, white pine, silky dogwood, pawpaw, white oak, chestnut oak, Washington hawthorn and hazelnut.

The event is being co-sponsored by the Huntington City Park and Recreation Department.

There is a limit of two trees per person. A free pack of six trees will be offered to anyonewho signs up for an IWLA membership before 10 a.m.

Visitors are also encouraged to view the various environmental booths that will be set up in the chapter house.
