Lions Club prepares for Christmas tree sales

The Huntington Lions Club will receive its annual shipment of Christmas trees on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 a.m.

Available trees include Scotch pine and Fraser fir. The Lions Club will also have grapefruit and oranges for sale during the event.

Hours for the sales are Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.

The sale takes place at the Scout cabin across from Sunken Gardens on West Park Drive, in Huntington.

This marks the 43rd year the club has sold the trees to raise money for a wide variety of county-wide projects and charities as an ongoing investment in the community.

Proceeds from the Christmas tree sales go toward scholarships for the Children’s Choir of Huntington County, college scholarships, eye glasses for the needy, Love INC, Boys & Girls Club, HAT, Huntington County Literacy Coalition, Huntington North High School Varsity Singers, 4-H Fair Association and various other projects throughout Huntington County, in addition to state Lions Club projects, including Scout Cabin maintenance.
