Huntington, Warren to hold CROP walks on Oct. 1

This fall, Huntington County and about 2,000 cities and towns nationwide are joining together in interfaith community CROP hunger walks around the theme “Ending Hunger One Step at a Time.”

The three-mile walk will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, in Huntington and Warren.

The walk is held in solidarity with people around the world who typically walk six miles a day to get food, water and fuel. For a few hours and a few miles, friends and neighbors will come together to fulfill the words of 1 John 3:18, “…Love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action,” note CROP walk officials.
Walkers take pledges to raise money. Last year’s walk raised $6,859.37, with 25 percent of the money raised in Huntington County staying in the county.
