Splash on the Wabash has new date of Saturday, Aug. 12

The Splash on the Wabash, postponed from its original date of July 8, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12.

“We’re hoping that gives the water a chance to chill out a little bit,” says Tina Bobilya, executive director of the Huntington County Visitor Bureau.

High water on the Wabash River forced cancellation of the event on July 8.

Ticketholders for the main event, an inner tube float down the Wabash River, should have already received emails notifying them of the change, Bobilya says. Anyone unable to use their ticket on Aug. 12 can request a refund by July 21.

In addition to the float, the rescheduled event will include all of the activities originally planned, including a ticketed zipline as well as free inflatables, water paddle boats, “walk on water” balls and kayak rides. Food will be available for purchase.

The float is offered at three times, 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

The remaining Splash on the Wabash events will be held at the Forks of the Wabash Historic Park from noon to 4 p.m.
