Hart, Daugherty earn scholarships from Flint Springs Elementary

Huntington North High School 2017 graduates Haley Hart and Sam Daugherty have each been awarded a $500 scholarship from Flint Springs Elementary School.

Hart, the daughter of Jason and Taberly Hart, plans to attend Park University in North Carolina, where she will study business administration and marketing.

While at HNHS Hart received an academic honors diploma. She played tennis and managed the boys’ tennis and basketball teams. She was also a member of DECA. She volunteered at Love INC, Huntington JeFFFest and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Daugherty, the son of Chad and Deb Daugherty, will attend Ball State University, where he plans to study mathematics/actuarial science and communications.

While at HNHS Daugherty was in the top 25 in all four years of high school. He played football, basketball and baseball. He also participated in Campus Life, sports broadcasting, Huntington Youth Leadership, student athletic board and was a math and chemistry tutor. He volunteered at the local soup kitchen, Huntington City-Township Public Library and the Pioneer Festival.
