Friends to host fundraiser for Roanoke Library

The Friends of the Roanoke Library is seeking donations of items that can be included in a benefit auction to be held April 24 as part of a 100th anniversary celebration for the Roanoke Public Library.

Items already donated include a P. Buckley Moss print, best-selling books autographed by their authors, gifts from local merchants, and gift baskets appealing to a wide range of ages. A list of items donated so far is available online at www.roanoke.lib.in.us.

To donate items, call the library at 672-2989 or Friends President Sheryl Hart at 672-8978.

Bidders can register for the auction in advance at the Roanoke Library. The first 29 people who register in advance will receive a bookmark autographed by inspirational author Karen Kingsley. The bookmark will be handed out the day of the auction.

The auction will be held at Roanoke Elementary School, with a silent auction at 2 p.m. and live auction at 3 p.m.
