Evangelical United Methodist marks 40th anniversary Sunday

Evangelical United Methodist Church will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its church building on Sunday, May 21.

The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the original worship service used on moving day in April of 1977, when the congregation moved to its current building at 1000 Flaxmill Rd.

At the 10:30 a.m. service, in addition to celebrating the building, 11 confirmands will become new members of the church.

Former pastors who will attend the celebration include Rev. Larry Ray, Rev. J. Robert Fields, Rev. Gerald Hewson, Rev. Dr. Steve Holdzkom and Rev. Ron Storms.

They will participate in both services.

Rev. Dr. Marti Lundy is the current pastor of Evangelical United Methodist Church and will preach on “The Day of March Has Come.”

The community is invited to attend and join the celebration.
