The Huntington Metro Kiwanis Club has recognized Maggie Park and Matthew Schnepp as outstanding eighth graders from Riverview Middle School.

The students were honored by the Kiwanians on Feb. 27. They were selected for the award by the Riverview staff on the basis of their individual accomplishments and excellence in scholarship, citizenship, character building activities, extracurricular achievement and leadership.

Park is the daughter of Steve and Melanie Park. She has been involved in choir and other musical activities at Riverview and was also a member of the school’s Future City team, which placed seventh nationally. Park plans to study for a career as a neurophysiologist.

Schnepp is the son of Bob and Sarah Schnepp. He is a member of the Junior Honor Society and has been involved in basketball, track, baseball, geography bee, student council and the Future City program.

Each student received an engraved plaque made by Huntington Metro Kiwanis member Jim Dinius. The plaque will be displayed at the school.
