Dennis Grain to be the site of Tractor Club meeteings

Huntington County 4-H Tractor Club meetings will begin on Monday, March 1, at Dennis Grain, 587E-800N, Huntington.

Meetings will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Parents are advised to attend the first meeting to assist in completing the 4-H Club enrollment paperwork and required signatures.

Four additional meetings will be held:
March 9, at Heritage Hall, Hier's Park.
March 15, at Koenig Equipment, Ind.-9.
March 22, at Wertenberger Tire, 1400 S. Jefferson St.
March 29, at Doug Carroll's home, 11306N-900W.

The 4-H Tractor program provides youth with educational information about tractors and small engines.

Youth may choose to focus on small tractors (lawn and garden) or larger tractors (farm/agriculture).

In both categories, they will learn a variety of skills related to engine operation, electrical systems, safe operation of equipment, and parts identification.

Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in the Huntington County 4-H Tractor Operators Contest, scheduled for July 11, at Hier's Park and to display a poster at the 4-H Fair with judging taking place on July 22.

Any youth in grades 3 through 12 is eligible to enroll in the 4-H Tractor program and to participate in the winter classroom meetings and summer judging exhibits.
