Peers choose Helvie as district president for state commissioners' group

Huntington County Commissioner Jerry Helvie was elected president of the Indiana Association of County Commissioners Northeast District during the group's annual conference in December.

Wells County Commissioner Paul Bonham was elected vice president.

As president, Helvie will represent the elected county commissioners in the northeast district of the state, which includes Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Elkhart, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kos-ciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley. He will serve on the association's board of directors, which determines policies and legislative goals.
