Secretary of State Rokita to speak at annual Huntington chamber dinner

Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita will be the keynote speaker for the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce's 86th annual dinner on Monday, Jan. 25.

The dinner will be held at the LaFontaine Golf Club, 6129 N. Goshen Rd. A social time begins at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. For more information or reservations, contact JoAnn Burnau at 356-5300 or ChamberAdmin@Huntington-Chamber.com.

Rokita, elected in 2002 as Indiana's 59th secretary of state, is a native of Munster. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Wabash College, where he was named an Eli Lilly Fellow, and a law degree from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis. Before being elected to office, he served as general counsel and later deputy secretary of state under Indiana Secretary of State Sue Anne Gilroy.

As secretary of state, Rokita is responsible for overseeing all elections in Indiana, businesses in the state, the state's securities industry and motorized vehicle dealers.
