Local Walgreens now has H1N1 vaccines for public

Walgreens stores in ten counties, including Huntington County, are now offering the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine to anyone in the general public age nine and older.
Priority group vaccination restrictions were recently lifted by the Indiana Department of Health.

The vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis and by appointment. Pharmacy hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. A shorter wait time is likely between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., when two pharmacists are on duty.

Consumers are advised to check to see if the cost of the vaccination is covered by private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.

The Walgreens store in Huntington is located at 1804 N. Jefferson St. For additional information, call the store at 358-0014.
