4-H Beef ID Day is Jan. 9 for all beef steer and heifer entries

Huntington County will hold its 4-H Beef Identification Day on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the cattle barns at Hier's Park in Huntington.

All 4-H members planning to exhibit beef steers or non-registered breeding heifers must bring their animals for weighing, identification and ear-tagging between 9 a.m. and noon on that Saturday.

Animal enrollment forms were mailed in mid-December to all 4-H beef members who were enrolled in the 4-H beef project for the previous year. The County Extension Office has additional copies of the necessary paperwork for any interested youth who has not received the forms. All paperwork must be completed during the Jan. 9 ID day.
