Free Healthy Baby class begins Sept. 22

Huntington County Extension will begin a new series of Have a Healthy Baby classes starting on Monday, Sept. 22. Two class options will be available to pregnant women.

Class times are Mondays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 1:20 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Have a Healthy Baby is a free five-week program that is available to all pregnant women.

In this series of classes participants will learn proper nutrition and daily physical activity during pregnancy, safe eating during pregnancy, how a baby grows inside the mother, components of healthy weight gain during pregnancy and the impact of regular prenatal care on the health of the mom and baby.

Free baby items will be given away during each class along with $50 Walmart gift cards, if eligible. Items were donated by the Extension Homemakers of Huntington County. An optional sixth week class is provided on Safe Sleeping. Pack n Plays will be given away during this class. Classes are taught by Purdue's Family Nutrition Program assistants.
