Students in Huntington Catholic School's Middle Building will be working with a new mobile laptop lab this fall.

Principal Jason Woolard says the 30 laptops will be stored on carts that can be moved from classroom to classroom and used in academic areas, mainly science and social studies. They can also be used for online assessments, he says. Students will be using some Google Apps for Education as well as Google Docs, which they can then access from home.

The mobile laptop lab will complement the computer lab already in place in the Middle Building, Woolard says.

The computer lab in the Primary Building has been upgraded over the summer, he adds.

Middle Building students will also have a new math and science teacher to replace Samantha Smith, who resigned to accept a teaching position elsewhere. The new teacher has not yet been hired.

Huntington Catholic School will follow the calendar of the Huntington County Community Schools throughout the year, with one exception for teacher training, and will also follow the HCCSC weather delays and cancellations.

The school day starts at 7:45 a.m. for the Middle Building and 8 a.m. for the Primary Building, and ends at 2:45 p.m. in both buildings. Bus transportation is available.

The Huntington Cath-olic School Middle Building is located at 960 Warren St., Huntington, and the phone number is 356-1926.

The Huntington Cath-olic School Primary Building is located at 820 Cherry St., Huntington, and the phone number is 356-2320.
