Chico's will provide the clothing for this year's "Fashions for the Arts" fundraiser sponsored by the LaFontaine Arts Council, and Huntington will supply the models.

Tami Capozza, Kim Haneline, Kelly Metzger, April Poling, Cyndy Pressler and Joni Schmalzried are featured on the runway for the event, which will be held at the LaFontaine Golf Club on Nov. 7.

A social time will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch, a short presentation by this year's Advocate for the Arts Karen Kennedy and the fashion show itself.

The main focus of the LAC is its "Arts in Education" program, which provides quality presentations to all students in the Huntington County schools. Many of the models know from first‐hand experience just how valuable these programs are.

Metzger, a guidance counselor at Flint Springs Elementary School, says, "The ‘Arts in Education' programs provide different modalities of learning, thus stretching our students to make connections with the arts and their classroom curriculum."

Pressler, a retired educator, is a strong supporter of the arts. She adds, "I enjoyed the fashion show last year." She is ready to contribute to this year's show by modeling the clothes from one of her favorite stores.

Bonita Price is the assistant to the models this year. As a former fashion show model, she understands the importance of having someone backstage to help the women as they change from one outfit to the next. But more importantly, she knows how "Arts in Education" directly affects students.

Price, a first grade teacher, says she especially enjoyed the "Poetry Alive" program, which was presented at Flint Springs last year.

"After the program my children wrote poems and acted them out," she says, adding that the students even knew how to pose.

The emcees for "Fashions for the Arts" will be Joel Froomkin and Rich Najuch, owners of The New Huntington Theatre.

Tickets can be reserved by calling 358‐0055 or 356‐8874.

All proceeds from the event go toward the "Arts in Education" programs.
