Costume parade will kick off Scarecrow Fest in Warren on Oct. 30

Children and adults are invited to parade through downtown Warren to kick off the Scarecrow Festival on Friday, Oct. 30.

The parade starts at 6 p.m. at 3rd and Wayne streets. Participants are asked to wear family-friendly costumes.

Festivities continue in downtown Warren until 8 p.m. and include hayrides, a chili cook-off and Halloween games and activities sponsored by Warren businesses and organizations.

In the event of rain, events will be moved to the Knight-Bergman Center.

Judging for the festival's scarecrow contest will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, beginning at 10 a.m. Those participating in the contest are asked to display their scarecrows outside Thursday morning and leave them out all day Friday and throughout the weekend.

The Scarecrow Festival is sponsored by the Warren Area Chamber of Commerce. Festival brochures are available at Nation al City Bank, MarkleBank and the Town Hall in Warren.
