Survey: HU’s record makes it the second safest school in Indiana
Thursday, August 29, 2013 8:09 AM
Huntington University is a safe school both for its campus and the local community, according to rankings by StateUniver sity.com.
Huntington University ranked second in Indiana out of 50 schools listed.
The safety and security of members of the Huntington University community are the primary concerns of the campus leadership, says Dr. Ron Coffey, vice president for Student Life.
Trained police officers are on staff at HU to patrol the campus. They are charged with the enforcement of federal, state and local laws, as well as university policies and regulations.
The police officers have the authority to make arrests and work closely with the Huntington Police Department.
For the rankings, State University.com compiles information by reviewing campus crime statistics submitted by college and university law enforcement departments between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31.
