Mobile mammography unit to have 3 local stops
Monday, August 19, 2013 7:46 AM
Francine's Friends Mobile Mammography has scheduled three stops in Huntington County.
The mobile unit will offer mammograms on Aug. 24 at Owen's South, 1245 S. Jefferson St., Huntington; on Sept. 21 at Owen's North, 2718 Guilford St., Huntington; and on Oct. 5 at Seminary United Methodist Church, 250 N. Seminary St., Roanoke.
Appointments should be scheduled in advance. For an appointment, call 483-1847 or 1-800-727-8439, ext. 26540. Walk-in openings are available depending on schedule.
The Breast Diagnostic Center (BDC) performs the screening. For women who have insurance, they will bill the insurance company. If the patient does not have insurance but has the ability to pay, the BDC offers a reduced rate if paid the day of the screening.
For women without insurance, with a high deductible or without resources to pay, funding is available.
