Psi Iota Xi announces contributions for 2013

Phi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, of Huntington, has announced the 2013 contributions made to local organizations using profits from the group's fund-raisers.

The funds were raised through two major fund-raisers, the annual Forks of the Wabash Pioneer Festival and cheeseball sales.

Gifts have been made to the speech and hearing departments of Lincoln Elementary, Flint Springs Elementary, Lancaster Elementary, Roanoke Elementary, Northwest Elementary and Andrews Elementary schools and Horace Mann preschool.

Also receiving conributions were the Flint Springs fourth grade class, The Boys & Girls Club, Central Christian Church, Helping Paws Pet Haven, Huntington City-Township Public Library, Huntington County Extension Homemakers, Huntington County Free Health Clinic, Huntington County Habitat for Humanity and Huntington County WIC.

Additional donations were made to LaFontaine Arts Council, Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Youth Services Bureau, Huntington Area Transportation (HAT), Relay for Life, Summer Speech and Hearing Clinic, Altrusa, Varsity Singers, Special Olympics, Pulse Opera House and Huntington Fireworks.

The chapter also awarded 11 scholarships totaling $5,700 for the 2013-14 school year.
