Johnny Davis tribute ride Aug. 4
Thursday, August 1, 2013 7:33 AM
The second annual Johnny Davis Tribute Ride will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4.
Registration for the ride and poker run starts at 11 a.m., with kickstands up by noon. Starting point is Johnny's Restaurant, the restaurant Davis built in 1948.
There is a cost per player for the poker run and rider or passenger for the ride.
Participants can meet at Johnny's for breakfast prior to the start of the ride.
Davis was a World War II veteran, lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 7 for 66 years and builder and owner of Johnny's Restaurant.
Half of the event proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society and half will go to the fund for Alexis Fairchild and Sidney Good, two local girls injured in a parasailing accident recently in Florida.
Sponsors for the event are American Legion Post 7 Regulars, Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of The American Legion and The American Legion Riders.
For more information, contact the American Legion Post 7 at 356-8226.
