ABWA honors three at Education Night

American Business Women's Association's (ABWA) Forks of the Wabash Huntington Chapter recently hosted an afternoon seminar featuring Elizabeth Nulf MacDonald, corporate communication coach and founder of The Cutting Edge. She spoke on strengthening professional communication skills.

Later in the evening, the 30th annual Business Associate Event and Education Night was held, with speaker Catherine Wilcox, J.D., senior vice president, institutional official corporate counsel at Parkview Health.

The 2013 recipient of a $2,000 scholarship was Whitney Maranda, of Huntington

Individuals honored by the chapter were:

• Brad McDonald, owner of Freightco LLC, named Business Associate of The Year.

• Sharon Eutsler, owner of Classicut and Designs by Sharon, named Woman of The Year.

• Vicki Pearson, chief executive officer of Lime City Title Services LLC, named as the recipient of the Vonnie Hoover Spirit Award.

Hoover was a member of the chapter who died suddenly on Dec. 19, 2012.

The chapter's upcoming events are the annual Brat Tent on Friday, June 21, opening at noon, with lunch being served. That evening, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the band Actual Size will be taking the stage. Saturday night, after opening in the late afternoon, the band Renegade will take the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
