Mower and Stephan earn Cecil Scholarships

The Huntington County Community Foundation announces that Kayleigh Mower, of Markle, and Brittany Stephan, of Huntington, have been awarded 2013 Ephraim "Mike" and Mary Cecil Scholarships.

Mower, a 2010 graduate of Huntington North High School, is a senior at Anderson University majoring in Christian ministries with minors in Spanish, family science and biblical studies.

She is the daughter of Lori and Troy Mower.

Mower's career plan involves working with young women to improve their self-identity and self-worth.

Stephan, a 2011 graduate of Huntington North, is a junior at Butler University majoring in religion and communication, with minors in political science and peace studies. She is the daughter of Tami and Ernie Stephan.

Stephan's goal is to be ordained as a United Methodist pastor.

The Cecil Scholarship is awarded to a member of Trinity United Methodist Church who is pursuing an education in ministry of Christian faith or other Huntington County students pursuing careers in ministry of Christian faith.
