CEDIT committee recommends funding for demolition in Warren

The Huntington County CEDIT Committee has recommended that the Town of Warren receive $35,000 in CEDIT funds, Warren Town Council Julia Glessner announced during the council's May 13 meeting.

The money will help pay for the demolition of two houses and improvements to one building.

The funding recommendation must still be submitted to the Huntington County Commissioners for approval.

An ordinance amending wastewater rates was introduced and a public hearing was scheduled for June 10 at 6:30 p.m.

The increase of eight percent would mean the user of 4,000 gallons would see an increase in cost of $3.34 per month.

Lee Poulson, acting utility manager, reported that the INDOT permit for necessary electric work at the Ind.-5 culvert being replaced by INDOT had been received. Deadline for the work is Aug. 1.

Poulson also noted that spraying for mosquitoes starts today.

The next meeting of the council is June 10.
